Post-production
In terms of the edit, we had to be very selective of what clips to choose from.
When creating a web banner, it is important to consider that you only have a few seconds to capture the audience,
and all of this has to be done visually, without audio.
One technique we integrated into the video was using a time-lapse clip.
We chose a recognisable area in London, Old Street Roundabout, which was also close to the client’s office -
this is a good way to capture the audience, as time-lapse footage is eye catching and by using a recognisable place,
helps the audience relate to the brand.
As dimensions of the banner were already considered when already considered when filming at the offices,
there was no issue in re-sizing clips.
Another technique we used was to apply a black and white colour grade to the footage,
and only highlight one colour within the shot.
We used this technique as we had to factor in the fact that the video was to be used as background on a page,
so we decided not to use full colour as it was important for any text to be clearly seen on the web page.
To keep the video visually eye catching, we decided on using a pop colour to highlight focal points –
something which wasn't too distracting, but still engaged the user.
Client Comment
Honestly thank you again for all of your hard work! We were so happy with the efficiency of the day and we are so happy with how both videos look! I have showed the wider team and have received nothing but compliments.
